Things I want...

...but can't afford, fit, or justify :)

An appliance garage:

A pop-up electric / USB charging station for the far end of the new counter:

THIS I can do...just not sure where yet (maybe even retro-fit the base cabinet right of the sink):

And another I can do -- I like that the it has the bottles horizontally, but it isn't deep as the bottles are tall:

This I could do with a label maker where I hang my measuring spoons:

This looks cool for a spice rack...but I wonder if they have any idea you actually have to polish it regularly if you want bright and shiny? Of course I have quite a bit of cooper, and it could be painted (or even clear coated!):

Perhaps combine the copper pipe (I have a lot of surplus from the basement I could polish and re-purpose) with clear coat and mount inside a door -- which if carefully planned wouldn't require the shelves to be cut shorter:

Rebuild Days 19, 20, and 21

That's a cool new thing -- holders for the electrical wires, instead of them just running lose in the walls (clearly for new work only!):

New Bathroom Floor!

Electrician has some stuff as work-in-progress...so I have a temporary pull chain in my bedroom:

More repairs to the beams under the house (the 2x4s are just temporary props they used to lift up the floor):


Well, let's see...right now I'm using an outhouse and drying clothes outside. Of course being October, they only got about 90% done, so off to Mom's I went to finish drying them and I think she was in seventh heaven folding them.

Wes kept some of the pressure treated that was put in the basement in '99 and came out this time when he rebuilt a beam that had further deteriorated...I'm guess the future deck project.

Putting some stuff back in the barn since rain is expected this week:

In the house, I did get the baseboard radiators taken out on Sunday morning, so I can replace the baseboards before the carpet folks come.


Also this weekend:
-- Ordered better brackets to support the chimney when we put it back up. These have "legs" that come down and should keep it from slightly drooping as it had over the last 15-ish years it has been up.
-- Ordered the carpet and cabinets from Lowes.

Rebuild Day 18 -- Holy Shit Papu!

Mostly worked from home, although I did help dig a hole for footings for the front entry for a half hour.

That's the fifth full dumpster in 12 months, second on this job...with another 15 harder coming Friday. How much material can we pull out of a 650 s.f. house for the love of God!

650 s.f. x 8 foot ceilings, plus let's call the attic the equivalent of two feet high -- that's 240 cubic yards in volume. We will have removed about 75 cubic yards of it!!!!
