Days 36, 37, 38...

Opened up the kitchen wall for the electrician, before heading to the 100th Finnish Independence celebration at Tamarack.

William Aho, who turns 100 in January and was the first and last UConn employee hired for their ability to speak Finnish (he worked with poultry farmers).

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed a mounted Reindeer head. I shall call him Fred.

Monday Morning I paid the down payment on the heating system, arranged for the building inspection Thursday evening, stopped to see Bob at the house, and the electrician stopped by before I left to make up a materials list.

Kiya and Liz Mackela have adopted my bathroom...I just smile and nod.

Monday I also ran some Cat 6 cable to support future security cameras.

Rebuild Day 35...Tiling & Priming Bathroom

...and a shitload of visitors. In addition to Wes, Kiya, and Andrew working we had Ro, Ed, Sean, Liz, Mom, Ed (the other one), and Pat and maybe others I forgot o_O

Wall re-opened (the plywood was screwed on for this purpose) to let the plumbers and electricians in.

Rebuild Day 32

Hey! It's the three-quarters of a "Men At Work" sign Papu used for sub flooring:

The "edges" for the siding are up. If I don't miss my guess, that means Bob can start putting up the actual siding tomorrow. Cross fingers :)
The ledger board (covered with white aluminum flashing) is also installed for a future deck. This way they can side around it and not have to tear siding down to install it in the future.

I didn't do any work, other than spend more money at Home Depot on faucets and shower heads. Also checked out the Typhoon Ice counter tops, and picked up a bunch of paint samples to start thinking about.

Stopped by around 11 to check on the progress...after a game of telephone where Pat heard from Kiya they needed to make a step, which was actually a tall threshold to cover for a 3/4" drop from the outside wall to middle in the floor that's remaining carpeted.
